During his career he has been a representative on various industry bodies, some of which he went on to chair.

His career has included periods working for Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now part of PwC), the Serious Fraud Office, the Bank of England, NatWest Group, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Amlin.
